October 17, 2025, the KASO Foundation welcomed Simon Danczuk, a former British Member of Parliament, writer, and supporter of strong UK–Rwanda relations. The meeting took place at B Hotel in Kimironko, Gasabo District. Mr. Danczuk met with Igiraneza Abdullah, the Executive Secretary of the KASO Foundation, and Pie Ntwari, a member of the Foundation’s Board.
During the discussion, we shared with Mr. Danczuk how KASO started over a decade ago, not with resources but with a strong desire to help. We talked about our early efforts to support street children, vulnerable women, and young girls, beginning with small acts of kindness fueled by determination and compassion.
As we grew, we turned KASO into a business that generates income and channels part of its revenue into community projects. With this success, we launched the KASO Foundation, a platform designed to reach and empower even more people in need.
Mr. Danczuk took a keen interest in our work and later visited our base of operations, where we are developing two major initiatives: The Home Therapy Project, which provides a safe environment for vulnerable and underprivileged. This project helps them meet basic needs, find love, and receive psychological support while guiding them toward stability and positive life choices. Our Podcast Studio, dedicated to sharing stories of hope, change, and resilience. This space amplifies the voices of those working to make Rwanda and the world a better place.
We truly appreciated Mr. Danczuk’s visit, his valuable insights, and his encouragement to continue broadening our vision.
In addition to his political and humanitarian efforts, Simon Danczuk is known as a co-author of Scandal at Dolphin Square (with Daniel Smith) and Smile for the Camera: The Double Life of Cyril Smith. In these works, he exposed the crimes of his predecessor, the late Liberal MP Sir Cyril Smith. His dedication to truth, justice, and international cooperation continues to inspire many.
The KASO Foundation team is grateful for his time, generosity, and love for Rwanda. We look forward to welcoming him again soon to see more of our projects in action.
